This 2006 Volkswagen Jetta TDI is in excellent condition with only 66,500 miles. A Mk5 TDI Jetta with such few miles and the highly desirable 5-speed manual gearbox makes this a rare find. It has a clean CarFax report showing 2 owners since new, regular maintenance performed by the original selling dealer (McDonald Volkswagen in Denver), and no accidents. My business partner and I have personally driven this car over 500 miles and we regularly see 55 mpg. On trips to the airport I have logged 62 mpg. It is quite impressive.
This car presents fantastically and looks like a much newer car than 2006 model year. It gets a lot of compliments and many obligatory nods from other TDI owners. The paint is in excellent condition - it appears glossy all over and has only minor dents and scratches. The worst is on the hood, which can be fixed with paintless dent repair. I have tried to photograph it in light that shows the imperfections. The windshield glass is in great shape, with just one area of grazing out of view behind the rear view mirror. The side and rear windows are lightly tinted which compliments the metallic grey paint and helps keep the interior cool. The factory mud flaps are an excellent option and have helped preserve the lower side valences from pitting. The wheels are in excellent condition with two small areas of curb rash on the front passenger side wheel, and one very small area on the passenger side rear wheel (see pics). The tires have 75%+ tread remaining.
The leather seats are in exceptional condition with no tears, stains or excessive wear. The carpet also shows very little wear and the original carpet mats are included. Weathertech custom rubber floor mats, as well as Volkswagen carpet and rubber floor mats. The trunk has a Volkswagen Gorilla Gear mat with Velcro cargo anchors. The dash and door panels, as well as all interior trim are in excellent condition. The instrument cluster screen has no missing pixels. The only interior flaw is the paint on the buttons of the stereo, which is beginning to peel. This is a very common issue with the Volkswagen stereos of this generation with the black painted buttons. VW remedied this problem by putting metal buttons in future models. The functionality of the stereo is not affected and a replacement unit can be purchased, if so desired, for less than $200.
All systems function as they should and nothing is broken or inoperative on this vehicle. It drives smoothly with no unusual sounds or vibrations. The transmission shifts as it should with no abnormal sounds or difficulty. The electrical system works as is should as well as all electrical components. The window motors and regulators all operate at normal speed with no unusual sounds. At 64,593 miles on April 29, 2015 the following service was performed at McDonald Volkswagen:
