BMW M3 Performance Inconel Exhaust Available for Extra
The E92 generation M3 (2008-2013 model years, the 2 designates a 2-door) marks the end of an era for the BMW M3. It was the last M3 that followed the high revving, high compression, naturally aspirated, individual throttle body recipe that started with the iconic E30 M3. If you are an M car fanatic of the old school, this is a big deal in the turbo-charged world of the present. The E92 M3 is the most highly evolved and potent example of that old-school recipe. Put another way, the E92 M3 is a fire breathing monster that shrieks to a redline North of 8,000 rpm while inhaling through no less than eight snarling throttle bodies and wailing through an exhaust unimpeded by turbochargers. It is the M3 with the volume turned up to eleven. And, because it’s an M3, it still offers wonderful daily drivability, comfort, luxury, and practicality. Car and Driver, Motor Trend, and Edmunds called the E92 M3 the finest, single best, and most complete car on the market. Even the sanctimonious Jeremy Clarkson said it was the best car and there is no point in thinking otherwise.
We are selling this 2011 Alpine White ZCP E92 M3 on consignment for a fellow BMW enthusiast and BMW Car Club of America member. It was originally delivered by Kelly BMW of Columbus, Ohio and split time between there and Columbia, South Carolina where it was always dealer serviced. In 2014 the second owner purchased it locally in Columbus, Ohio and continued to have it serviced by Kelly BMW with a BMW extended vehicle protection plan. It came to Colorado with that owner in 2017 and has been serviced by Winslow BMW since being here. The Carfax reports minor damage under the first owner during the second month of ownership, which was reported by the previous owner to be a heavily curb-rashed rear wheel in a parking lot that he claimed on his insurance. We paint gauged the entire car, and all areas showed between 3-5 mils, with the exception of the rear quarter panel, door, and trunk lid, which read 5-7 mils, which could have been delivered that way, or could have re-painted at some point. The condition of the paint is perfect and factory correct. The Carfax and records show frequent oil changes (5000 miles or less or annually), and routine maintenance inspections being completed more frequently than the scheduled intervals. A recent Blackstone Oil Analysis showing excellent rod bearing health is included in the records. The current owner added BMW carbon fiber front splitter covers, mirror covers, and a “high kick” rear spoiler. He also installed BMW black kidney grilles and matte black side gills from Mod Bargains. All of these appearance modifications can be undone and all of the original parts are included in the sale. The entire hood, front fenders, front bumper cover, mirrors, and rocker panels are covered with LLumar protective film that is in excellent shape. The ZCP wheels were refinished in BMW Ferric Grey that looks amazing against a backdrop of Alpine White 3. Overall, the exterior and interior condition is virtually flawless; it still smells new inside. The E9X M3 market has diverged, and this E92 M3 ZCP is an outlier in the available population due to its mileage, exemplary condition, and options. We would like to find a home for it where it will be well cared for, appreciated and enjoyed.
The normal exterior, interior, and mechanical condition descriptions I write are moot with this M3; it is virtually flawless. It has always lived indoors and driven sparingly, only in fair weather. The exterior is protected by professionally installed LLumar protective film on nearly every wear prone surface. The film itself is vibrant and clear, showing no signs of being UV compromised or yellowing. The entire hood is covered in a single sheet—no seams. The front bumper cover, lights, front fenders, mirrors, rear bumper cover, and rockers are also covered. The windshield has no pitting or cracks, and the side and rear windows are covered by 15% LLumar tint. The carbon fiber roof clear coat is brilliant and translucent; it sparkles like fresh snowflakes at dawn. The headlight, marker, indicator, and brake light lenses are brilliantly clear and free of cracks. The wheels have absolutely no blemishes or curb rash and the Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires are worn evenly with 60% front and 40% rear tread remaining.
The interior is equally pristine. It still smells like the day it was delivered. There are no odors, tears, scuffs, or stains. It has never been smoked in. The alcantara M Performance steering wheel has no wear. The carbon fiber trim is perfect. The leather covered trim panels, leather shifter, e-brake handle and boot, as well as the leather seats are soft and supple with zero wear. The carpets have been protected by factory floor mats; two sets are included, carpeted and rubber. All interior functions work correctly; the power heated seats, windows, door locks, seat belt extenders, heat, air conditioning, comfort access, etc. There are no failed pixels in the cluster displays or iDrive screen. There are no check lights, warning lights, or check control alerts. The BMW Individual stereo sounds amazing. Two key FOBs are included, along with the owners’ manual leather booklet and a stack of E9X M3 marketing brochures, magazine articles, and several posters.
All maintenance has been done more frequently than the BMW factory intervals. The 1,200-mile engine break-in was done strictly per BMW instructions. Oil changes have been done every 5,000 miles or annually. Other fluids have been changed on schedule. The airbag recall was performed; the current owner opted not to perform the HVAC wiring recall due to the lack of symptoms and not wanting his dashboard taken apart. The only non-routine maintenance shown on the records was a seeping transmission side cover gasket, which was replaced under the BMW extended protection plan. It has never had any mechanical issues, thrown any codes, or gone into limp mode. The recent Blackstone Oil Analysis shows no rod bearing deterioration. As it sits, it is a turn-key M3 ready to be enjoyed by its new owner.
